More and more Americans are researching their family trees, and that includes celebrities.

Actress Jessica Biel followed her genealogical path to the Miller County Museum in Tuscumbia last August.

Biel is one of eight celebrities featured in the ninth season of the popular show, "Who Do You Think You Are?" The hour-long program on TLC follows celebrities as they "navigate through incredibly personal journeys to unlock the mysteries of their ancestors," according to TLC's website.

For Biel, two shocking discoveries "shake everything she knows about her heritage to the core," according to the website.

Earlier this week the Miller County Historical Society announced on its Facebook page Biel and the "Who Do You Think You Are?" production team filmed a portion of her genealogical journey at the Miller County Museum in August.

"It was a joy to meet her and be here for the filming. Make sure your DVRs are ready," the Historical Society said in the announcement.

The show featuring Biel and the Miller County Museum will air at 9 p.m. April 2 on TLC.

Biel's episode is about halfway through the season, with ancestral stories of Courteney Cox, Julie Bowen, Jennifer Grey and Noah Wyle already aired. Additional celebrities featured in the current season are John Stamos, Liv Tyler and Smokey Robinson.

The Miller County Museum will officially open to the public for its 2017 season May 20.
