Fulton man charged with drug dealing

A Fulton man has been charged with second-degree drug trafficking in Cole County.

Jarred Maddox, 36, is also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Officers pulled Maddox over early Tuesday morning in the 400 block of West Dunklin Street for failing to signal, according to a Jefferson City Police statement.

Maddox consented to search of the vehicle, and officers found several items of drug paraphernalia - a packet of new pill bags, scale calibration weights, a counterfeit pen and a large amount of cash.

Maddox was also in possession of a cloth sunglasses bag that contained about 4 ounces of methamphetamine, morphine pills and a used meth pipe.

Authorities said Maddox is a persistent offender of drug distribution.
