Police still seeking information on shooting deaths

A Jefferson City Area CrimeStoppers $1,000 cash reward still is being offered for information leading to the arrest of those responsible for the death of a Jefferson City man last month.

Detectives are seeking assistance from the public for help in finding the suspect or suspects responsible for the murder of William "Bill" Crawford, 50.

He was killed at his residence in the 1900 block of Stadium Boulevard between 8:53 p.m. Aug. 19 and 6:30 a.m. Aug. 20.

He last was seen on video Aug. 19, leaving Schulte's Fresh Foods, 1904 Southwest Blvd.

Crawford died from a gunshot wound, but police haven't released more details of their investigation.

Police officials said the investigation into the shooting death of a 25-year-old Jefferson City male on the evening of Aug. 21 is still open.

The weapon responsible for the death of the victim is in police custody, but no suspect is in custody and the incident has not been classified as a homicide.

One person was taken into custody immediately after the shooting, but that person was later released.
