Fulton residents charged Sunday morning following narcotics search warrant

Two Fulton residents were charged Sunday morning for drug possession.

At 9:28 a.m. Sunday, the Fulton Police Department and M.U.S.T.A.N.G. drug task force executed a narcotics search warrant at 107 W. Third St. in Fulton, according to a press release.

The press release from the Fulton Police Department states that during the search methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found.

The house's residents, Shawna Lynn Bruns, 31, and Michael William Van Soptick, 23, are both facing drug-related charges.

Bruns was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. She was released on summons.

Soptick was arrested and charged with distribution of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of an illegal weapon, possession of marijuana and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. Soptick was taken to the Callaway County Jail with a $25,000 bond.

The investigation is ongoing and more charges are pending, according to the press release.
