The Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney has filed additional charges against a Holts Summit man currently in the Callaway County Jail for child pornography.
Prosecuting Attorney Chris Wilson charged Dale A. Dietsch, 45, on Wednesday with three counts of first-degree statutory sodomy against a minor 14 or younger based on incidences that allegedly occurred at his mobile home in the 300 block of North Summit Drive between July 2012 and December 2013.
A probable cause statement released by the prosecutor's office states that Dietsch was arrested for the pornography charges after a joint investigation by the Boone County Sheriff's Department Cyber Crimes Task Force and the Holts Summit Police Department. During that investigation, the arresting officer learned Dietsch had served as a babysitter for two children younger than the age of 10 who lived in the same trailer park.
The statement says a relative of the children was concerned Dietsch "may have taken photographs of (one of the children) that may constitute child pornography." The filing officer reported a meeting with the children and their mother disclosed instances of sexual contact between the youngest girl and Dietsch.
The probable cause statement goes on to state that the information was forwarded to the Department of Social Services' Children's Division, and an investigator from that group and a forensic interview with a forensic interviewer in March "also disclosed instances of sexual contact" between the child and Dietsch.
The report states that Dietsch allegedly contacted the child's genitals and made the child touch his genitals and anus for "several minutes."
The News Tribune reported Dietsch was originally arrested in February on first-degree promoting child pornography and first-degree possession of child pornography - both class B felonies - following an investigation that began when a task force detective located a home computer in the area uploading still images and videos of child pornography to a file sharing program.
He has since been in the Callaway County Jail held on $10,000 bond.
