Why are you running for office?
I am running for the School Board because I take pride in the fact that I attended and graduated from Fulton Public Schools. The supportive staff at Fulton Public Schools is one of the reasons I am who I am today. They helped motivate and taught me the skills to walk away not only as a graduate but a productive member of this community. I would like to be a part of the continuous educational growth of Fulton Public Schools.
What do you want to accomplish? (Specific goals or plans)
I would like to see the school district continue to evaluate its ability to stay competitive in maintaining its quality of staff with other school districts.

Husband, Terry. Grandson is a second grader at McIntire School, myself and our two grown sons are all graduates of FPS.

Why are you running for office?
To offer a new perspective. As a retiree, I feel like I can relate to issues faced by students, parents, faculty and staff.
What do I want to accomplish? (Specific goals or plans)
I want to see a continued rise in the graduation rate and attendance, as well as continued efforts to improve school safety.

I am an Adjunct Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Missouri. I am a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. I am a Deacon in the Presbyterian Church.
Your family:
My wife is Debra Hunter, an elementary school teacher. My daughter is Lauren Hunter, a freshman at Washington University.
Why are you running for office?
I filled a one year term on the board and greatly enjoyed the opportunity. I would like to continue to serve at least one full term to have a chance to bring my experience in education and cognitive development to the board and the citizens of Fulton.
What do you want to accomplish? (specific goals or plans)
I have no specific agenda. I am the only candidate or board member without a child or grandchild in the district. My goal is to represent the interests of every child. As the community and state continue to traverse difficult economic times, I will advocate vigorously for fiscal responsibility while maintaining high academic standards. The district is blessed with an outstanding faculty and I would like to continue to support ongoing efforts directed toward a fair compensation package to retain our outstanding teachers.

Why are you running for office?
I am running for re-election for the board of education because I feel that it is important to be involved in your community. I have three children as students in the district and try to be involved in their education. I believe I can continue to contribute to the success of the district and all students it serves.
What do you want to accomplish? (specific goals or plans)
I have seen many positive things happening in the district. I would like to continue to be a good steward of district's financial resources. Support the positive plans in place to build respectful and successful future citizens of our community such as the district wide rollout of PBS system (Positive Behavior Support), PLC (Professional Learning Communities) to aid teachers in best practice teaching methods and the "Be Great Graduate" program to have children focused on graduation and beyond starting at day one of kindergarten.

Why are you running for office?
I've been honored to serve this district for two terms as a member of the board, we have accomplished alot of good things, been thru challenging times and have a alot more to accomplish. I would like to continue to be a part of the successes this district experiences.
What do you want to accomplish? (Specific goals or plans)
I'd like to see another bond issue in the near future. We still have capital projects in the district that need to be done.
