Fulton teachers group to host school board candidate forum

The Fulton Community Teachers Association is hosting a forum for candidates for the Fulton School Board from 4-5 p.m. Monday, March 17 in the high school commons area.

District counselor Anne Langendoerfer said the organization hosts the forum every year to give voters an opportunity to hear from the candidates.

"We feel like it's important for board candidates' voices to be heard, and it helps our community to make an educated decision," Langendoerfer said.

Each of the five candidates - incumbents David "Rob" Hunter, Kevin Habjan and Scott King, and newcomers Ruth Burt and Todd Gray - will have two minutes to answer a series of questions compiled by the FCTA after soliciting input from district employees.

"We tried to have everybody's voice be heard," Langendoerfer said.

She said there is a list of eight questions, which will be drawn at random during the forum, which is scheduled to have time for at least five of the questions. Candidates will take turns being the first person to answer.

The forum is open to the public.
