Fulton man arrested for part in robbing, injuring elderly man

A Fulton man is among five facing charges for robbing and injuring an 82-year-old man last week. The Pulaski County Sheriff's Office announced that five suspects were arrested for the incident that occurred Friday, July 25, near Swedeborg.

The sheriff's office claims stolen property from the robbery has been recovered along with multiple firearms from other crimes in Pulaski and Miller counties. In a search of a residence related to this crime, deputies found a homemade bomb and sought Vernon Dale Parker Jr. for questioning.

Parker, formerly of Fulton, was arrested at a residence here Tuesday after the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office alerted the Fulton Police Department it was looking for Parker and that he may be in the area. Parker, 42, is also facing burglary charges in Miller County and has a warrant for failing to register as a sex offender in Callaway County. The elderly victim from the robbery remains in critical condition, the sheriff's office said.
