July 16th, 2014 in News

Fulton police arrested a man today they believe is responsible for an armed robbery last week at Carver Park.

Someone reported to the Fulton Police Department at 11:48 a.m. Thursday, July 10, that he was robbed at gunpoint about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, at Carver Park by two black males, one allegedly with the nickname "Jojo."

The victim told police that between 4:30 and 5 p.m. Tuesday a "muscular black male" brandished a black handgun and pushed the victim in the back of the head with it then said, "Give me the money," the press release stated.

The victim told police that "Jojo" took an "undisclosed amount of money," the release stated.

Police believe "Jojo" is Ronnie Joewette Lee Jr.

Today, police arrested Lee at the 1400 block of Monroe Street in Fulton.

Lee was charged with first degree robbery, unlawful possession of firearms, unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action.

Lee was taken to the Callaway County Jail with a total bond of $120,000.

After Lee's arrest, a search warrant was executed at 813 Bluff Street, Apt.3, which is believed to be Lee's residence. During the search warrant a revolver was recovered.

This investigation is ongoing and further charges are pending.

Lee pleaded guilty in 2007 for distributing, manufacturing, producing or attempting to possess a controlled substance with intent to distribute, manufacture or produce, according to online court records. That crime is a felony.

Fulton police did not list Lee's age, but court documents list his birth year as 1990.

Fulton Police Chief Steve Myers told the Fulton Sun that at this time the police department does not believe there's a connection with this case and the armed robbery that sent a Columbia man to the hospital with a gunshot wound April 26.

Myers said there have been no new leads on that case.

Anyone with information on these or other crimes is asked to call the Fulton Police Department at (573) 592-3100.
