Two men from Mexico are facing charges after being pulled over by Callaway County Sheriff's Office at around 2:35 a.m. today.
Officers stopped David Carl Atterberry, 46, of Mexico in his white Chevrolet Blazer for failure to dim headlights. According to a sheriff's office press release, before the car could come to a stop, a passenger, Carl Wayne Atterberry, 24, of Mexico, fled the vehicle and led officers in a foot pursuit.
Police caught Carl Wayne Atterberry and allegedly discovered methamphetamine in his possession. He is facing charges of possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest for a felony as well as Audrain County warrant charges: second degree burglary, felony stealing and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond is set at $36,000.
David Carl Atterberry already had a Fulton Police Department arrest warrant for operating a motor vehicle without a valid license. He is being charged with failure to dim headlights to oncoming traffic, driving while suspended and hindering prosecution of a felony in addition to the warrant charge.
