With just one week to turn in petitions to run for Fulton City Council, one councilman has officially filed for re-election with three others announcing intent.
Ward I Councilman Mike West has turned in his application to file. Fulton requires a signed petition to file for election, and the three other incumbents whose seats are up for contention this year - Ward II's Mary Rehklau, Ward III's Lindsey Pace and Ward IV's Steve Moore - have all picked up petitions and plan to file ahead of the Jan. 21 deadline.
The Fulton Sun spoke with all four about what their plans were for the city if they are re-elected. As of Monday afternoon, City Clerk Carolyn Laswell said no challengers had picked up applications

West has been on the Fulton City Council for six non-consecutive years, originally starting his tenure for one term in the city's fourth ward. One project West has worked towards over the years was finding development for the Tennyson Road Park, which is currently 55 undeveloped acres.
