Callaway County residents young and old gathered around the stage to watch the youth participants compete in the Baby Contest for the title of cutest kid. There were five age categories for the night: 0-6 months, 6 months-1 year, 1 year old, 2 years old, and 3 years old. In each of these five categories, three participants were chosen, resulting in a first, second, and third place winner by three judges: Heather Russell, Casey Dorcy, and Kelly Craig.

In the 0-6 month-old category, Brylee McAlpin won third place, Landon Rowles won second place, and Kinslee Vaughn won first place. In the

6-month to 1-year-old category, Mila Lopez won third place, Alivia Smart won second place, and Landon Priest won first place. In the 1-year-old category, Aubrielle WIlliams won third place, Mable Preston-Coley won second place, and Liam Bedford won first. In the 2-year-old category, Avery Propst won third place, Tuff Twitchell won second place, and McKinley Priest won first place. Finally, in the 3-year-old category Arianna Case won third place, Alexis Vaughn won second place, and Bryce Garrett won first place.

Between each of the participant groups, while the judges were tallying up the scores for the children, a clogging group called the Flat Foot Follies, lead by director Debbie Keeling performed for the audience. Their entertainment consisted of coreographed tap routines for the pleasure of the audience.

This year was two-year-old McKinley Priest's third year running of winning first place in her division. She and her little brother, Landon both won first place this year in their division. Their parents say they are very excited for their children.

The winner of the youngest age group Kinslee Vaughn's mother, Heather Vaughn said, "According to me, she's the cutest baby there is."
