Callaway County Humane Society to restructure levels of membership for upcoming drive

The Callaway County Humane Society (CCHS) has recently restructured its membership levels. In order to create and provide more benefits for members the Callaway County Humane Society (CCHS) has recently restructured its membership levels and changed its rewards for donating money.

The humane society is currently hosting a membership drive that will continue until June 21.

CCHS is a non-profit corporation governed by a volunteer board of directors from Callaway County and depends primarily on private donations, member support and volunteers to function. The board members are currently asking members only for monetary donations, but suggesting other ways in which community members may help if desired.

According to Nancy Hickman, a CCHS membership committee member, there has been a slight decline in the humane society's membership recently. The directors' goal is to obtain 70 new memberships, which will almost double the number of current memberships, Hickman said.

"Funding is primarily from membership and donations, and we're almost totally dependent on them," Hickman said.
