North Callaway senior catcher Chance Kee hit the go-ahead double with one out in the top of the seventh inning of the Thunderbirds' 14-11 win over South Callaway on Monday night.
The win snaps a four-game skid for the Thunderbirds (9-6) while ending the Bulldogs' winning streak at eight.
Freshman second baseman AJ Stubblefield started the North Callaway seventh with a walk then moved to second on a sacrifice from senior shortstop Nate VanBoening. Senior catcher Chance Kee doubled in Stubblefield then scored on freshman right fielder Wyatt Branson's two-run homer off of South Callaway senior reliever Ethan Ward.
"We've talked all year about competing through all of the game and I thought, tonight, our guys did a good job of competing for seven innings," T-Birds head coach Kevin O'Neal said.

The Pirates scored a run in the bottom of the 11th inning to down the Hornets at the Hallsville junior varsity tournament on Saturday.
Sophomore catcher Trenton Clines finished 4-for-5 while freshman second baseman Devon Keltner and freshman third baseman Cameron Vititoe both tallied three hits. Keltner took the loss on the mound, allowing two unearned runs on four hits while striking out one in two innings.
Freshman Isaac Franklin was the Hornets' low shooter with a six-over-par-42 as Fulton took second in a triangular with the Eagles and Indians on Monday at Tanglewood Golf Course.
Senior Jack Brady and sophomore Gage Oestreich each shot a 44 while senior Kory Masek finished with a 47.

Fulton's Tobias earns
gold in 300 hurdles
MEXICO - Lady Hornets' senior Hayley Tobias finished first in the 300-meter hurdles and garnered second in the 100 hurdles at the Ron Whittaker Bulldog Classic on Saturday.
Tobias topped the field in the 300 with a time of 50.1 seconds. She was the runner-up in the 100 with a result :15.9.
