South Callaway track teams roll at Russellville

RUSSELLVILLE - Senior Garner Rudroff and juniors Mason Shoemaker and Terry Miles each won two events Monday to steer the South Callaway Bulldogs to the boys' team title at the Russellville Open.

In the girls' division, senior Taylor Howard and junior Hannah Oberdiek both posted a pair of first-place finishes to direct the South Callaway Lady Bulldogs to the team championship.

Rudroff prevailed in both the long jump and triple jump with respective distances of 21 feet, 4 inches and 40 feet, 11 inches, while Shoemaker was victorious in the 100 and 200 meters with times of 12.35 seconds and 24.57 seconds, respectively.

Miles won the 800 in 2:16.31 and took first in the high jump with a leap of 5-10. The Bulldogs amassed 203 points to lock up the boys' title, followed by Versailles in second with 190.16. Russellville was a distant third with 84 points.

Howard triumphed in the 100 (:13.78) and 400 (1:01.99) as the Lady Bulldogs compiled 174 points to fend off second-place Russellville (163) for the girls' championship. Versailles came in third with 112 points.

Oberdiek took first in both the 200 (:28.75) and long jump (17-1).
