Tina Rich had been a longtime fixture in other daycares in Fulton, but after 11 years she decided it was time to branch out on her own.

Rich is now owner and director of Creative Minds Child Development Center, which held its grand opening last week at 207 Glover St.

The center is open from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for daycare services for children from infancy to 5 years old. Before and after-school programs for school-age children up to 12 are also available.

Rich said opening Creative Minds was an opportunity to operate a daycare center in Fulton that was oriented towards "cultivating healthy development for preschoolers."

"We are looking for a calm environment where kids are happy," she said. "We don't go against what kids naturally want to do. We want to turn that natural curiosity into a learning experience."
