The second-half adjustment for the Westminster College Blue Jays was a simple one, according to head coach John Welty.
"We went from a four-man front back down to our three-man front," Welty said. "We went to our three-man front and we just shut them down.
"Physically, we knew we were better than them. We were physically better than them and they knew it, and it just took us some time to figure out what to do and how to line up defensively. Once we started going, they couldn't stop our perimeter rush, they couldn't stop our inside rush."
That's all it took and it panned out just fine. The Westminster defense pitched a shutout after halftime and senior running back Ronnie Seals Jr. tallied three touchdowns as the Blue Jays started Upper Midwest Athletic Conference play with a 35-14 victory over Crown (Minn.) College in Saturday's home opener at Priest Field.
