What many people don't know about the Cox brothers - Ron and Larry, the brains and manpower behind Larry's Country Kettle Korn - is that they often give away the money they make pandering to area residents' sweet teeth.
Any time Old Fashioned Kettle Corn appears at a fundraising event, everything they make that day goes back to the event that is being supported, and many times they dedicated a portion of sales from their regular appearances to local charitable organizations.
"We work with Relay for Life and other non-profits that want us to come do events and we give the money to them," said Ron Cox, who first started the business 15 years ago because he needed the extra income. "It just helps out the community."
In addition to his efforts with his business, Ron said he also is involved at his church as well as serving as a member of the Kingdom of Callaway County and Mokane fair boards.
"I just like to volunteer on stuff," he said.
