Fulton man held on series of felony charges

Dustin James Maupin, 32, of 6615 County Road 401, Fulton, is in Boone County Jail facing a series of felony criminal charges after a Labor Day weekend spree.

Maupin is accused of forcing his way into a Columbia residence at 4:20 p.m. Monday, stealing a pickup truck, fleeing from a pursuing Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper, and resisting arrest.

Only two days earlier, Maupin was arrested in Boone County by the patrol on a felony charge of driving while intoxicated as a chronic offender, felony resisting arrest, felony driving while his driver's license was revoked, leaving the scene of a vehicle accident and speeding 100 mph in a 55 mph zone.

He was released on bail and on Tuesday was arrested again by the patrol in connection with the strong-arm robbery and vehicle theft.
