Callaway Electric Cooperative receives funds for upgrades

Thanks to funding from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Callaway Electric Cooperative will have the opportunity to make several project updates and improve its system. In total, the co-op was granted a $9.3 million loan guarantee, with $1.9 million reserved for smart grid projects.

"With these funds, Callaway Electric Cooperative can undertake necessary enhancements to facilities allowing the cooperative to continue to provide excellent customer service to customers in the region," Missouri State Director Janie Dunning stated in a press release sent by the USDA. "I applaud Callaway Electric Cooperative for being proactive and congratulate the cooperative for the receipt of the guarantee."
