Thunderbirds trying to extend momentum before start of district

These surges to end the season are becoming somewhat of the norm for head coach Mike Emmons and his North Callaway Thunderbirds football team.

Early struggles giving way to the late triumphs aren't too hard to explain, either.

"There's no doubt that we played really good competition early in the year, but there's also the aspect that we've gotten better," Emmons said Tuesday afternoon

North Callaway (4-4) - currently in sixth place in Class 2, District 6 - will look for its fourth straight win and a little breathing room in the district standings when it travels to the southwest part of the state to square off against Marionville. Kickoff is at 7.
