Hornets try to seize "opportunity' vs. rival

Fulton looking to stop two-game skid

Is tonight's annual Highway 54 Bowl between Fulton and its rival, the Mexico Bulldogs, the right game at the right time for the Hornets?

Fulton head coach Pat Kelley won't say yes or no, but it's definitely an opportunity for the Hornets - after losing two straight and three of their last four - to right themselves.

"We need to get back on the winning track," Kelley said. "I don't feel like our confidence is shaken any; we're still very spirited at practice, but it's a great opportunity to beat your rival and any time you have that chance, you want to take advantage of it."

The Hornets (4-3, 1-3 NCMC) and Bulldogs (2-5, 1-3) kick off their North Central Missouri Conference matchup - the 123rd meeting between the two teams - at 7 tonight in Mexico.
