Hornets hope to handle No. 10 Pirates' option attack

The Fulton Hornets have gone through about four base defensive schemes in 17 years, figures head coach Pat Kelley.

Every one of those years, his Hornets have game-planned for the same tried-and-true offensive strategy in regard to the Hannibal Pirates: the veer option.

"If you can point to one team that hasn't changed much offensively or defensively, it's Hannibal," Kelley said. "They do it well and they continue to (do it well)."

The Hornets travel to Hannibal tonight to battle the state-ranked Pirates in a North Central Missouri Conference clash. Kickoff is set for 7.
