The Westminster College Blue Jays will play the sixth-ranked Loras (Iowa) College Duhawks in the sectional round of the NCAA Division III men's soccer tournament at 5 p.m. Saturday in Dubuque, Iowa.
The Westminster-Loras winner will advance to face either Trinity (Texas) College and Wartburg (Iowa) College in the national quarterfinals at 6 p.m. Sunday. The Blue Jays (13-8-1) reached the Sweet 16 with a 1-0 win over Gustavus Adolphus on Sunday in St. Peter, Minn. Loras (17-1-3) played to a 1-1 tie with Luther College through two overtimes Sunday, but prevailed on penalty kicks.
The Blue Jays will be honored with a pep rally at 12:30 p.m. Thursday in the Westminster Gymnasium. Guest speakers will include school president Barney Forsythe, Blue Jays head coach Andrew Bordelon and the team's captains.
