Two central Missouri men were arrested recently after allegedly breaking into a farm near Millersburg, Callaway County Sheriff's Office officials said.
A press release from the sheriff's office states Ethan D. Lomas, 18, Fulton, and Dylan S. Sanford, 19, Jefferson City, were arrested Nov. 14 and charged with felony property damage, first degree trespassing and attempted stealing.
The release states that CCSO was contacted Nov. 4 to respond to a farm on County Road 343. The farmer reported damage to several garage doors on storage buildings.
The release states deputies determined the suspect or suspects had forced entry into several garages in an attempt to steal items.
CCSO Cpl. Curtis Hall said that a camera the property owner had installed caught the suspects' vehicle leaving the scene.
"We sent out a picture of that car to local law enforcement officers and one of the Fulton (Police Department) officers was able to recognize the car the night we sent the information," Hall said.
Hall said Lomas was arrested at his home and Sanford turned himself in to the sheriff's office that day, and both allegedly admitted to the crime.
Both men were released on summons with a court date of 9 a.m. Dec. 13.
The Fulton Sun reported in July that both men were among four arrested by sheriff's deputies for burglary, vehicle tampering and theft charges involving a number of all-terrain vehicles in the Fulton, Tebbetts and New Bloomfield area.
