Tourism Board discusses concrete repair around Kingdom City center

A group formed to promote tourism to Fulton and Callaway County might soon need to turn its focus to building repair.

In his presentation to the Callaway County Tourism Board, member Charlie Bland said the sidewalk to the Heart of Missouri Tourism Center the group operates in Kingdom City has been repaired, but more repairs are needed to its larger concrete walkways to prevent damage to the building's foundation.

"The sidewalk is complete - it's not perfect but it will keep someone from turning their ankle or stubbing their toe," Bland said. "But the concrete around the building has depressed three or four inches, and all the water drains toward the building. We haven't had any problem in the basement yet, but we want to address that."
