For three decades, the National Churchill Museum has been a key part of Fulton's Christmas celebration.

The tradition continues next Thursday, Nov. 14, with their 30th annual Victorian Christmas.

Festivities begin at 10 a.m. with shopping and the traditional English kettledrum tea, with spirits, food and an auction running from 5-7 p.m.

All proceeds benefit the Museum.

"For the original Friends (of the Churchill Museum) group, it was just another way to raise money and do something for the community," said Becky McCue, museum store and visitor services manager. "It's evolved very much from just a few tables and trees."

Jody Paschal, Mid-Missouri Friends of the National Churchill Museum president, said that at 5 p.m. the evening's wine and appetizer party kicks off. The Friends will be auctioning off gift baskets from Elliott's Custom Cabinets, Saults, Smockingbirds, Edward Jones, Mary Martin Shelter

But holiday festivities don't stop there. The museum will also host a Christmas tree lighting Dec. 2.

The museum will place a large tree in the neighboring garden, which Fulton Mayor LeRoy Benton will light at around 6:15 p.m. There will also be snacks and crafts for children.
