Fulton trips Chillicothe on late rally, gets winning TD with :32 to play

Hornets will travel to face top-seeded, state-ranked California in semifinals

With one drive to extend its season, the Fulton Hornets beat back whatever bad breaks that fell upon them in the season's second half to extend their campaign.

Junior quarterback Sam Christensen found junior fullback Noah Braun for a 4-yard touchdown with 32 seconds left in the fourth quarter, helping the No. 5 seed Hornets to a 34-30 comeback win over No. 4 Chillicothe in the first round of the Class 3, District 6 tournament on Thursday.

The No. 5 seed Hornets (5-5) will play at the top-seeded California Pintos in the semifinals next Wednesday at 7 p.m. The Pintos (9-1) beat No. 8 Missouri Military Academy 69-0 in their district opener on Thursday.
