T-Birds roar to win over Martinsville at Busch Stadium

As North Callaway junior shortstop Chance Kee rounded third base and headed to the home plate of Busch Stadium, Thunderbirds head coach Kevin O'Neal had no intent of doing stopping him.

"...I don't think there was going to be any way of me stopping him at third," O'Neal said on Monday.

Kee would go onto score to complete a three-run, inside-the-park home run in the fifth inning as North Callaway prevailed over the Martinsville (Ill.) Bluestreaks 17-2 at Busch Stadium on Sunday.

The T-Birds (13-10) completed five full innings and led Martinsville 10-0, but played an extra two innings. The two teams were permitted to play either nine innings or two and a half hours on the field.
