Marcus Ivory, dietary manager of Fulton Nursing and Rehab in Fulton, receives a Certificate of Recognition and Appreciation from Beza Kasse, a Missouri School for the Deaf senior, who worked part-time at the nursing home while participating in the MSD Work Study Program.

Thirteen students at the Missouri School for the Deaf in Fulton are participating in the school's Work-Study Program this year.

Five more Fulton businesses or organizations have been added to this year's program.

"The 2012-2013 school year has been a huge success," said Charlene Allison, work-study program aide at MSD.

Allison works with students while they are employed part time to learn about the real world of employment.

"I accompany the students while they are working to assist them if they need any help," Allison said.

Through the Work-Study Program, many MSD students gain work experience and confidence they need to help them find jobs after they graduate.
