Fulton Board of Education previews online registration

Preparations to implement an online registration system are nearly complete for the Fulton Public School District.

District Director of Technology Dan Hedgpath showed the Board of Education preview of the new system, which was implemented in order to better streamline the annual registration process for parents - especially of those with multiple students in the system.

"What we're trying to accomplish is to make it easier for parents to enroll their children," said Superintendent Jacque Cowherd. "You've all walked in, filled out a bunch of forms and go onto the next building and filled out a bunch of forms for the same child. Now once that gets filed, you only do it once and you'll just be updating."

Hedgepath said the system was "not completely done, but getting close," and was on target to be implemented for the 2014 school year. Using the same login information they use for the parent portal to access school information, parents will be able to fill out each form electronically that currently must be filed by paper.
