The 10th annual Fulton Street Fair kicked off Tuesday night during Business After Hours at Serenity Valley Winery, and those in attendance who bought their street fair buttons got more bang for their two bucks this year.
The $2 buttons provide opportunities to win in drawings throughout the fair as well as free access to the kiddie corral and ice cream social as well as discounts on drinks throughout the weekend, and officially went on sale at the kickoff.
Patrons there got an early preview of some of those perks, when Street Fair chairpersons Tom Harris and Melissa Siegel held a preliminary drawing for commemorative 10th anniversary Street Fair bottles donated by the winery.
While many patrons were there to sample the winery's selection and enjoy the scenery, the committee sold 50 buttons, and many guests - such as Gene and Helen West - were excited for the return of the annual festival.
"I like it because our church always has a food booth, and to see everyone there working together, it's great," said Helen West. Her husband said he always looked forward to the Street Fair because he could see people he hadn't visited in a while.
