Off-road enthusiasts of central Missouri are invited to a trail ride held all day May 4 beginning at 8615 State Rd. CC in Steedman that will benefit a pancreatic cancer patient and his family.
Jeep, truck, ATV and truck drivers will spend the day riding the trail to benefit Danny K. Byler and his wife and three kids, while Byler battles the disease.
There will also be hay rides for kids, a whole hog barbecue donated and cooked by Gary Young and Donnie Horn and a silent auction for several woodcarvings by Byler's uncle in-law, Carvers Walk of Fame member Bob King.
When King heard of the event, the Washington native offered to donate five of his animal and nature-themed chainsaw carvings for the auction.
"He's 38, a young guy and he's probably not going to make it, and so I just felt the need to help out the family. They're in dire straights right now," said King.
