Mid-Missouri's pirates, fairies and mad scientists of all ages are welcome to come mingle at third annual Fantasy Fair, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 27 and 28 at Boster Castle in Kingdom City.
The event, which started in 2011 as the Pirate Festival, hopes to provide family fun for enthusiasts with interests ranging from science fiction, to fantasy to pirates to steampunk. Tickets cost $8, and kids 5 and under get in free.
Event coordinator Lauren Sapp said the event was moved this year from summer to earlier in the year, both to make it more comfortable for those attending in costume and to reach a larger school-age crowd.
"It's a family fun event. It's pirates and steampunk and fairies, it's all kid-friendly," Sapp said. "I've been doing costumes since I was 6 years old, so it's really fun and we want to cater to the kids and adults, it's something everyone can enjoy."
