Oberdiek, Lady Bulldogs track team finish eighth at Gateway Invite

ST. LOUIS - Sophomore Hannah Oberdiek won the long jump and came in second in the 200 meters to spur the South Callaway Lady Bulldogs to an eighth-place team finish at the Gateway Invitational last Saturday.

Oberdiek was victorious in the long jump with an effort of 17 feet, 3 inches, and finished second in the 200 in 26.84 seconds. She also placed fifth in the 100 in :13.66, and was part of South Callaway's 400 relay - along with junior Taylor Howard and fellow sophomores Paige Brown and Sarah Jennings - that took third in :52.37.

The Lady Bulldogs, taking only five competitors to Saturday's meet at Washington University, logged 41 points against mostly Class 3 and 4 schools. Francis Howell claimed the girls' team title with 99 points.
