Commissioners helped battle recent snowstorms

County roads still in good condition

During two recent heavy snowstorms, the Callaway County Road and Bridge Department had some volunteer helpers who assisted them in their task of salting and clearing roads - all three members of the Callaway County Commission.

Volunteering to lend a hand during both recent snowstorms were Callaway County Presiding Commissioner Gary Jungermann, Western District Commissioner Doc Kritzer and Eastern District Commissioner Randy Kleindienst. All three of the commissioners rolled up their sleeves and pitched in to help battle the storms.

Jungermann helped install chains on vehicles and assisted mechanics in the garage, Kleindienst delivered gas and equipment to road crews in the field, and Kritzer helped open an emergency shelter in Fulton for Callaway County residents who lost electrical power to their homes.
