Kingdom City man arrested after pursuit through downtown Fulton

March 7th, 2013 in News

A high-speed drive through Fulton resulted in the arrest of a Kingdom City man for driving while intoxicated and several traffic-related charges Wednesday.

At about midnight Wednesday, a Callaway County Sheriff's Office deputy saw a black Ford F-250 fail to stop at a red light at 5th and Market streets, nearly striking another vehicle in the process.

Despite the deputy turning on his lights and siren, the truck continued west on 5th Street at an estimated speed of 60 mph, running through two posted intersections at Court Street and Jefferson Street.

The vehicle eventually pulled into a parking lot in the 300 block of 5th Street and the driver, Corey James Brewer, 29, was taken into custody. He has been charged with careless and imprudent driving, three counts of failure to yield to an emergency vehicle operating its lights and siren, felony resisting arrest creating substantial risk of serious injury or death to another person, and driving while intoxicated.
