Four seek seats on New Bloomfield school board

No opposition faced by aldermen at New Bloomfield, Holts Summit

A four-way race has developed for two seats on the Board of Education at the New Bloomfield R-3 School District.

School board and city elections will be on April 2. No races developed for aldermen in New Bloomfield and Holts Summit.

Filing for the three-year term on the New Bloomfield Board of Education opened Dec. 11 and ended at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

The latest candidate to file for the office is Wil Lawrence of New Bloomfield. Lawrence was an unsuccessful candidate for the New Bloomfield Board of Aldermen in 2011.

Earlier, Susie Hinrichs of New Bloomfield filed as a candidate for the Board of Education. Hinrichs is the current president of the New Bloomfield Education Foundation, which provides classroom grants to the school district.
