First community seed exchange planned in Fulton

Gardeners looking to add some variety to their gardens, make new green-thumbed friends and learn about indoor growing or seed saving techniques will soon have a chance to do so.

The Fulton Garden Club and ErrandRunners will be sponsoring a free Seed Exchange and, 6:30-8 p.m. Jan. 22 at the Callaway County Public Library.

Cindy Baker, Garden Club president and ErrandRunners owner, said the event was the first of its kind she knew of in Fulton.

"I think it's important; we have the community gardens in town, and across the nation there's this renewed interest in gardening," said Baker. "To be a resource and to help new gardeners and facilitate the exchange of ideas and skills between gardeners locally is what the Garden Club is all about."
