City work crews battle overnight snowstorm

February 27th, 2013 in News

City street and power crews battled the effects of an overnight snowstorm in Fulton Tuesday that clogged streets and caused scattered electric power failures.

The National Weather Service predicts more snow today, mainly before noon. Today's high will be near 31 with west winds 14 to 17 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 21 miles per hour. The chance of snow or rain today is 80 percent. New snow accumulation of less than one inch is predicted. A chance of snow flurries is predicted ever day this week through Friday.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter advisory until noon today. Freezing drizzle may be mixed with snow.

Fulton City Administrator Bill Johnson said Tuesday afternoon city utility crews had restored electrical power and city street crews started plowing snow at 4 a.m. Tuesday.
