The Fulton High School Class of 2013 has been counting down the days until graduation ceremonies begin in May, but now they have a new date to look forward to.
In a surprise announcement Tuesday, the seniors learned theirs will be the first class to bury a time capsule on the campus, filled with personal items, letters, notes and other memories, to be dug up at their 20-year reunion in 2033.
The seniors and subsequent classes will bury their capsule on school grounds - either in the circle drive or near the flag pole - at 6 a.m. Saturday, May 18 to cap off the annual Senior All-Night Party.
"It is going to be pretty fun," said senior Brittany Ledet. "We get to look back at it, open it in 20 years and say "oh god, we were so young, now we're so old.'"
