Callaway's chili chefs will have another chance to answer the call to help their neighbors Feb. 23.
The United Methodist Church Circuit of Mokane, Steedman and Tebbetts is sponsoring a chili cook-off to benefit SERVE, Inc., 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23 at the Mokane Methodist Fellowship Hall.
Cook-off coordinator Murphy Tetley said the churches decided to host a cook-off at a planning meeting this year, when they also agreed to continue helping SERVE with fundraisers.
"We decided we needed to be supporting something besides the church," said Tetley. "You do see a lot of churches supporting SERVE and I think it's important that we do that; we can't just sit around in a pew and listen to music."
