February 5th, 2013 in News

A Holts Summit man pleaded guilty Monday to charges related to the June 2012 death of a 9-month-old boy at a Holts Summit mobile home.

Bryan Sartor, 33, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, possession of a controlled substance and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. Sentencing is scheduled for April. He faces up to 21 years in prison.

The child's mother, Megan Ayres, 31, was sentenced last month to five years in prison for pleading guilty to charges she faced, but could be released on probation after serving 120 days, pending approval from a judge.

According to police reports, the 911 Callaway County Emergency Operations Center received a call at 11:07 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, saying a 2-year-old child was blue and not breathing at 964 S. Summit Drive, lot 10. The caller told the 911 center the child was "beyond any help."

Emergency personnel from the Callaway County Ambulance District and the Holts Summit Fire Protection District arrived within minutes of the call and found the 9-month-old Kyson Weathers dead in a playpen in the home.
