Lady Wildcats knock off Jamestown with late run

JEFFERSON CITY - New Bloomfield closed the game with an 11-4 run to send the Lady Wildcats to a 54-48 triumph over Jamestown on Saturday in the Missouri National Guard Shootout at Jefferson City High School.

New Bloomfield carried a 34-29 edge into the fourth quarter, but trailed 44-43 when head coach Brett Craighead called a timeout that served to energize the Lady Wildcats.

"The girls were determined; they took care of the ball and hit their free throws," Craighead said. "We had played well and then we hit a tough stretch, but they decided they wanted to finish the game off with a win."
