Fulton Our House holiday dinner raises $5,000 in second year

Callaway's homeless and emergency overnight shelter saw a strong outpouring of support at a recent fundraiser.

Our House: Caring for Callaway's Homeless raised more than $5,000 with its second annual holiday dinner, held Dec. 15 at Westminster College's Backer Dining Hall.

Our House Director Brad Sheppard said the money will supplement the shelter's operations for months, helping with utility costs, client assistance and general operations.

"A lot of people contributed to the success of the event, and we definitely appreciate Westminster College willing to host the event," Sheppard said.

About 100 people bought tickets for the event. The silent auction for donated items and gift baskets was also a major draw, contributing most of the holiday dinner's take.
