Lady Hornets to play for Montgomery title

Brandt, Totta direct Fulton to upset victory over Bowling Green in semifinals

MONTGOMERY CITY - For the youthful Fulton Lady Hornets, it was an attention-getting win so early in the season.

Sophomore forward NaShayla Brandt and sophomore guard Sloane Totta combined for 32 points - accounting for all but five of Fulton's total output - and the sixth-seeded Lady Hornets bumped off No. 2 Bowling Green 37-29 on Wednesday night in the semifinals of the Montgomery County Tournament.

Fulton (2-0) now advances to the title game at 9 p.m. Friday. The Lady Hornets will play top-seeded Hermann, which breezed past No. 5 Mexico 54-24 in Wednesday night's late semifinal.
