William H. Council, 55, Williamsburg, was arrested Friday by Callaway County Sheriff's deputies on charges of unlawful use of a weapon and resisting arrest.

The Sheriff's Office received a report Friday that someone blocked a road in Callaway Estates Subdivision with his vehicle and then pointed a sawed-off shotgun at the driver of another vehicle in the subdivision.

Deputies reported no shots were fired during the incident.

The driver of the vehicle who had the weapon pointed at him told deputies the man with the sawed-off shotgun was Council.

Deputies went to Council's residence. When they attempted to arrest Council, a scuffle occurred, resulting in a resisting arrest charge.

After a search warrant was obtained for Council's residence, a weapon as described by the victims was recovered at Council's residence.

An investigation into the incident is continuing.

Council is in Callaway County Jail and his bond is set at $20,000.
