Tebbetts man arrested for DWI after truck crash

Howard G. Paul, 76, Tebbetts, was injured when his pickup truck ran off the road Monday night and crashed about three miles east of Mokane, resulting in his arrest for driving while intoxicated.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported Paul was northbound on Route PP just south of County Road 480 at 8:30 p.m. Monday when the 1995 Chevrolet K1500 he was driving ran off the left side of the roadway. He returned the vehicle to the roadway and overcorrected the steering, causing the vehicle to travel off the left side of the roadway for the second time and strike an embankment.

Paul was transported by the Staff for Life Helicopter Service to University Hospital in Columbia with moderate injuries.

The vehicle had moderate damage and Paul was not wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.

Paul was arrested by the patrol for driving while intoxicated and failing to drive on the right half of the roadway resulting in an accident.
