Landowners of 200 acres or more in Fulton are allowed to hunt and burn on their property following the passage of a bill at Tuesday's City Council meeting.
The ordinance amending Fulton's firearms code was amended by a contentious council, with councilmen Steve Moore and Mike West voting against. The dissenting representatives said they felt passing the ordinance was simply catering to a few specific people.
"I didn't have a problem initially, but I had a few people contact me and they felt like we were just making special arrangements for one person," said Moore. "In six or 12 months I don't want (people) coming back wanting more."
