A Fair Housing Forum sponsored by the Fulton Human Rights Commission attracted about 30 Fulton area housing and rental providers Tuesday at Fulton City Hall.

Featured speakers at the forum were Alisa Warren, executive director of the Missouri Human Rights Commission, and Eric Krekel, director of investigative operations for the commission.

The forum was designed to provide information about Missouri fair housing laws to real estate brokers, bankers, developers, property owners and property managers.

Warren said the Missouri Human Rights Act makes it illegal in Missouri to discriminate in selling or renting housing based on race, color, religion, national orgin, ancestry, sex, family status or disability.

Warren said the Missouri Human Rights Act applies to landlords, rental managers, property owners, real estate agents, bankers, developers, builders, and individual homeowners who are selling or renting property.
